Learning English, Why Not? - It is my very first experience making english journal of my daily life. Regardless who I am, and though I am not as famous as william shakespeare, I believe that blogging and writing journal can help me improve my english well. Since I am an ESL (English as Second Language) learner, I do need many spaces to speak, read, listen, and write more in english. In spite of the fact that my english is not so good, but I am sure that we should write, write and write no matter what. Just accept that we'll have many mistakes in the process of learning. Without trying, what else we can do for having good english skill like a native speaker. So, I think trying to write down in english is the best way to learn english itself.
Anyway, I have many problems too while learning english. But
more I try, more I have much of confidence. Here some tips for you guys who are
ESL learners too. Hope these will help you :)
1. Start with planning
Planning is everything! Make a to do list which content your
study plan. When would you learning vocab? How many times you will repeat your
recitement a day, what topic of reading is today, which task you should do, and
etc.
2. Brace yourself! Don't fear of mistake
The first thing you must know is that mistake is our friend.
Don't treat it like a something to avoid. As people said that experience is the
best teacher, so mistakes are the best teacher as well. We can learn much from
the mistake we made. Without that, how can we know a perfect answer. So.. don't
worry about it. You can correct it later, until you'll have no important mistake
any more.
3. Studying continously
Studying 11 hours a day but being idle in the next three
days isn't good way for learning english. It's better to learn a small piece a
day but you do it every day. So you can remember and connect one and another
lesson well. Have you ever heard this saying? "Practice makes
perfect" it means that with practice every single day, you'll be able to use
english as native speaker. You are no need to think about translating english
to your first language and so the reverse, but speaking english will be
automatically thinking. Keep hitting the books every day!
4. Learning in many ways
School isn't the only place to learn english. There are other
places and other tools that can bring us to be english advance users. We'd
better learn english within all of our senses. Listening, reading, writing, and
speaking. Each of them have their own way to be learnt. For example, if you
want to learn listening, you can download free application in your smartphone,
or get podcast on Internet. If you want to speak english, you can go to the
english course and find partners to speak english. Also, the tutors in the course
will help you to correct or improve your speaking. And so do another skill, we should
use different way to enhance it.
Those four tips, I think those will be helpful enough for a
beginner, like me. Those all were my experience when I gave my best effort to reach
my first TOEFL score 520. And now, I am learning for IELTS and hope I can get
score band 7. 5 by the end of this year.
Well, these are my tips, and where is yours? However, don't
let it out of your mind: Learning English,Why Not? Hope you guys have a good day :)
